About Me

Dr. Darien Liew is currently a practicing junior doctor at PPUKM. His interest is to reinvent the healthcare culture.

Dr. Darien Liew is currently a practicing junior doctor at Hospital Tuanku Muhriz, Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM). He graduated from Monash University and is currently based in Malaysia. Prior to that, he has had some experience working in Australia.

He was formerly part of the Board of Advisors for the Malaysian Medics International, an international medical student-led organisation. He has led numerous positions in the past and has organised many national events across the country. His roles included dealing with branding, advocacy, partnership and branch council affairs. He had also contributed a significant amount of development to the organisation over the years, since 2014 till 2021.

Dr. Darien Liew is passionate in children’s health and refugee health. He has previously worked in the Neonatal Department at Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) and has since then published a research with MCH. He had also helped start up a dedicated refugee clinic in Seri Kembangan in 2020. Now, this clinic has expanded to also include free dental services for refugees.

His life’s goal is to reinvent the working culture in healthcare.

Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (October 2020 – now)

Currently working as a senior house officer. Have completed orthopaedic, general surgery, paediatric, obstetrics & gynecology postings.

Klinik Amal Muhajir (2020 – 2022)
Helped start up the clinic in its early days and carried out administrative duties, arranged for volunteers to join the clinic sessions on a weekly basis.

Malaysian Medics International (2014 – 2020)
Have carried out multiple positions within the organisation and its subsidiaries. Formerly led the organisation as the Executive Co-Chair and was the branch council President prior to that.
